Long Island, N.Y. (Mesothelioma Cancer News) – An asbestos finding in a Long Island high school led to it being evacuated early Thursday. As reported by CBS 2 news, Syosset Senior High School will be closed until April 7 as cleanup and testing takes place.

A sophomore at the high school, Ali Warrack, is quoted in the report as stating of the evacuation, “We were in class and then the teacher went out in the hallway and we heard the announcement. Everyone was dead quiet. And then they told us we needed to go to the bleachers and wait for buses or get picked up and we needed to bring everything for vacation, that we weren't going to be in school tomorrow.”
