This is the third year indie artists will have the opportunity to perform for major label’s biggest A&Rs and music executives in hopes of being signed during a season labels have funds available to promote new artists. The event will be at Utopia, 840 Marietta Street NW. Showdown 4 Red Carpet Affair allows unsigned artists who fall in the genre of R&B or hip-hop to perform in front of music heavyweights from mainstream labels such as Atlantic and Def Jam. After each artist performs, he or she is given real-time feedback in the areas of song selection, stage presence and overall talent.

Taylord Entertainment created Showcase 4 Red Carpet Affair in 2007 as a forum for major label music executives to connect with talented, independent artists. The Showcase is yearly and recurs during the same season, first quarter, when mainstream labels are open to signing new artists. The event is an excellent means for unsigned artists to network with known music executives.
