March 30, 2010 (FinancialWire) — BJ’s Wholesale Club, Inc.’s (NYSE: BJ) board of directors has authorized the repurchase of up to an additional $200 million of the company’s common stock. Including the additional authorization announced TODAY, a total of around $271.8 million is available to BJ’s for share repurchases.

During BJ’s year-end conference call on March 3, BJ’s management said it planned to spend around $100 million on share repurchases in fiscal 2010.

Massachusetts-based BJ’s is a warehouse chain in the eastern United States that currently operates 187 BJ’s Wholesale Clubs in 15 states.
