Globecomm Unit Wins 3-Year Maritime Managed Services Contract

(NASDAQ: GCOM), a provider of satellite-based communications infrastructure solutions and services, said that its Telaurus Communications unit has been awarded a three-year maritime managed services contract from Singapore based PACC Ship Managers Pte Ltd.
Under the terms of the contract, Telaurus will provide maritime fleet broadband terminals and its se@COMM maritime communications platform to thirty vessels trading worldwide.
The se@COMM solution manages the communications of a vessel master and shipping company. The latest release of product provides an email solution for both the ship’s business and crew use, and controls broadband connectivity so that the ship manager does not incur expensive charges due to unnecessary or non-approved data connections.
New York-based Globecomm Systems also maintains offices in Washington, DC, Maryland, New Jersey, the Netherlands, Hong Kong, Germany, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates and Afghanistan.
