PRESS DISPENSARY - Wednesday, Feb 24, 2010 - The third single from Nottingham's explosive five-piece art-pop band, Captain Dangerous (<a href="http://www.captaindangerous.com">http://www.captaindangerous.com</a> ), 'Everything Beautiful Reminds Me of You', is being released on Danqua Records on Monday March 29, 2010. The band, which combines a pop-harmonic approach with a louche demeanour and superb songs, can be caught at a series of live gigs across the UK in March and April.

Available on limited edition CD single from good independent record shops, and from iTunes and all major download sites from March 29, 'Everything Beautiful Reminds Me Of You' (<a href="http://www.tindeck.com/listen/mfmb">http://www.tindeck.com/listen/mfmb</a> ) and its B-side, 'Great Having You Around' (<a href="http://www.tindeck.com/listen/wzxx">http://www.tindeck.com/listen/wzxx</a> ), follow the band's critically acclaimed singles 'The Terrorist' and 'I Miss You 'Cos It's Monday'.

With a distinctive sound based around melodic vocals and elegant string compliments and influences drawn from The Cure, The Violent Femmes, Jonathan Richmond, early Teenage Fanclub, The Wedding Present and with a nod to Jarvis, Captain Dangerous has a more than 40,000-strong following on MySpace and has attracted rave press reviews.

9/10 Die Shellsuit Die said: "Captain Dangerous are awesome... fantastic strings and lyrics that feel completely genuine and delivered with precision."

Red Hot Velvet said: "...their melodic vocals and elegant string compliments, the Nottingham four-piece may well breathe some life into an industry that at best can be described as, on its arse! Rating - 4/5."

Mark Riley BBC 6 music said: "Outrageously catchy melodies."

'Everything Beautiful Reminds Me of You' was first aired at a sold-out Rock City (Nottingham) on Friday January 15, 2010, where the band was joined on stage by the Rob Rosa String Quintet with support from the sensational Fists (Hello Thor records) and the exceptional Lisa De'Ville.

Adam Clarkson, lead singer of the band, says: "Our third single, 'Everything Beautiful Reminds Me of You', is a love song that doesn't wear its heart on its sleeve - it is about how love can feel like death but at least the lovers die in beauty."

Notes for editors

Captain Dangerous was formed in 2007 by former flatmates Adam Clarkson and Miles Clark while they were studying at university in Lincoln. They were later joined by Mark Houlgate and, most recently, new drummer Jamie Elliott and Rob Rosa. Since forming, Captain Dangerous has played alongside acts including Marina and The Diamonds, The Magic Numbers, The Rumble Strips, Dirty Pretty Things, Lightspeed Champion and The Holloways, as well as making festival and TV appearances across Europe.

The band has played more than 350 gigs across the UK and has headlined some of the most important live music venues in the country: including Rock City and Rescue Rooms (both Nottingham); The Louisiana (Bristol); 53 Degrees (Preston); 93 Feet East (London); Barfly (Birmingham); Rhythm Factory, Nambucca, and The Dublin Castle (all London), to name a few.

In 2007, the band - sponsored by BMI Baby - embarked on a festival tour of the Czech Republic. This excursion included playing in a decommissioned Cold War era nuclear fallout shelter 33 metres under the streets of central Prague. The band has also performed on the Levi's 'Ones to Watch Tour' and on the Jack Daniels JD.

Captain Dangerous has been championed by BBC Radio DJs Dean Jackson and Mark Riley, as well as XFM's John Kennedy. In summer 2009, the band released its debut album, 'The House That Jack Hayter Built', the launch of which attracted a sell-out crowd to Nottingham's Rock City on Dec 12, 2008.
