February 11, 2010 (FinancialWire) — Plum Creek Timber Co., Inc., (NYSE: PCL) has named Marc F. Racicot to the company’s board of directors, effective March 1. Racicot was president and chief executive officer of the American Insurance Association from 2005 through 2009.

Prior to that, Racicot was a partner in the law firm of Bracewell & Giuliani, LLP. He served as governor of the state of Montana from 1993 to 2001.

Washington-based Plum Creek is a private landowner with around seven million acres of timberlands in major timber producing regions of the United States.

The company also has wood products manufacturing facilities in the Northwest.
