Skanska Buys Two Swedish Residential Housing Projects
February 8, 2010 (FinancialWire) — Skanska (STO: SKAB) said it has acquired two cooperative-housing projects from SBC, Sveriges Bostadsrättscentrum AB.
The acquisition entails building rights and progressive project plans for a total of about 280 cooperative apartments in locations in the Gothenburg area. Skanska’s total investment following the completion of the projects is estimated at about SEK 1.2 billion.
Skanska Residential Development Nordic initiates and develops residential areas for apartment blocks and single family homes. At the beginning of 2009, the business unit had around 3,400 new homes in production and has about 400 employees in Skanska Residential Development in Sweden, Skanska Kodit in Finland and Skanska Bolig in Norway.
Sweden-based Skanska is a project development and construction group with a focus on construction, development of commercial and residential projects and public-private partnerships.
