NIC Unit Inks Government Services Contract
February 5, 2010 (FinancialWire) — NIC’s (NASDAQ: EGOV said that the state of Nebraska has signed a new contract with the firm’s Nebraska Interactive unit to manage its official government portal for up to six years.
The contract has an initial term of four years with one, two-year renewal option.
Nebraska Interactive signed its original multi-year contract with Nebraska in January 1995. The state of Nebraska has issued a competitive bid for egovernment portal services a total of four times in the past 15 years.
According o NIC, the new contract went into effect on February 1, 2010. In the past 15 years, Nebraska Interactive has worked with more than 40 Nebraska state agencies to develop more than 200 interactive government services, according to NIC.
