P'etiquette Collars Canine Couture

The launch of canine couture specialist, P'etiquette, brings to the doggy world stunning, handmade dog collars featuring crystals, semi-precious gemstones, pearls and Italian glass beads ... all at recession-busting prices.

PRESS DISPENSARY - Monday, Jan 25, 2010 - A dog is "man's best friend" as well as being one of the family and, just like us, he deserves to be dressed to impress. And now, thanks to the launch of canine couture specialist, P'etiquette (http://www.p-etiquette.co.uk ), luxury, handmade dog collars aren't just the domain of celebrity pets. With a focus on doggy style, P'etiquette gives pooch access to a range of stunning collars featuring crystals, semi-precious gemstones, pearls and Italian glass beads, and all at recession-busting prices.

Stylish canine apparel has long been popular with the A-list, such as Elton John, Mick Jagger, Britney Spears and Kelly Osbourne, as well as members of the British Royal Family. One of the biggest trends in fashion for Fido or Fifi is ornate collars - the perfect accessory to brighten up the owner's and dog's day. Following human fashion trends, P'etiquette will release new designs as part of its spring and autumn collections.

P'etiquette is the brainchild of Geoff Thompson of Newcastle Upon Tyne who set up he company after failing to find a suitable collar for his West Highland hound, Harry. He explains: "I couldn't find anything that stood out, so I decided to make my own collar. When people kept asking me where I'd bought it, I decided to go into business producing similar collars. Several months later, on Christmas Day 2009, P'etiquette was launched."

He adds: "The aim of P'etiquette is to provide your furry friends with fashionable yet functional couture collars that stand out from the pack. Most decorative pet collars featuring crystals are of poor quality and are mass-produced in the Far East using cheap materials. P'etiquette collars are all hand made in the UK using high quality leather. They are extremely durable and add a level of glamour to pooch that can't be found on the high street. By decorating the collars with semi-precious gemstones, Swarovski crystals, Italian beads and charms by hand, every piece becomes as special as the pet itself."

P'etiquette currently stocks four ranges - 'Classic Elegance', 'Art Deco', 'Charmed I'm Sure' and 'Handsome Hounds' - featuring everything from traditional black and brown leather collars to those in vibrant, hand-dyed colours. Many of the designs can be customised by the client, with a choice of crystals or leather. If however, the customer has an idea for a piece of their own design, they can take advantage of P'etiquette's bespoke service. All collars can be accompanied by matching leads.

Prices start at a highly affordable GBP 35, vastly undercutting the price tags of the Hollywood collars. All P'etiquette creations are gift-wrapped in a stylish gift box and come with their own P'etiquette ID tag.
