Whistle-Blower Prevails in Suit Against Lockheed Martin
Whistle-Blower Prevails in Suit Against Lockheed Martin
January 26, 2010 /EIN PRESSWIRE/ A judge has ruled that a Lockheed Martin employee was retaliated against when she blew the whistle on her boss for allegedly having affairs with US Army soldiers and billing the government for the expenses related to the trysts.
Andrea Brown, a former director of communications for Lockheed Martin in Colorado Springs, should get her job back in addition to compensation for lost pay and benefits, according to Judge Russell Pulver. Brown resigned in 2008 after, she said, work conditions became intolerable.
In his decision, Pulver wrote that Lockheed Martin was more interested in protecting the company "and perhaps to some extent its vice president" at the expense of the whistle-blower who "simply followed the company's policy to report suspect activities within the company."
However, a Lockheed Martin representative says that the company believes the claims are without merit and that they intend to appeal the decision.
