January 22, 2010 (FinancialWire) — Scientific Games Corp. (NASDAQ: SGMS) and Playtech Ltd. (AIM: PTEC) say they have formed a number of important strategic partnerships to jointly develop and market internet and land-based gaming products and services to regulated gaming operators.

The partnerships combine Playtech’s B2B gaming software and portfolio of products with Scientific Games’ market reach and offerings to among government-sponsored and commercial gaming operators.

According to Scientific, the partnerships include a new joint venture, to be called Sciplay, focused on B2G internet government-sponsored and government-regulated lottery and gaming.

The two firms will also form a systems partnership in gaming terminals and development utilizing Playtech’s Videobet software platform, technology expertise and gaming product suite.

Scientific Games is a supplier of instant tickets, systems and services to lotteries worldwide, a supplier of server based gaming machines and systems, Amusement and Skill with Prize betting terminals, interactive sports betting terminals and systems, and wagering systems and services to pari-mutuel operators.
