FirstAlert(tm) Daily 1/14: The More The Merrier
- Market Commentary -
January 14, 2010 (FinancialWire) (By Bob Farley) — Every year around this time in my hometown, the local CBS (NYSE: CBS) station preempts regular programming for local hometown college basketball. And every year I wonder why they mess with my normal television viewing, especially when they have a sub channel that airs local weather reports. I have no special bias against the weather, but I do enjoy my police procedurals, especially the ones on CBS. I’ve never been a fan of NBC’s (They’re owned mostly by General Electric (NYSE: GE)) competing police and courtroom procedural, but at times like these, I’ll take a look. Not liking what I saw tonight, I was glad that I’d recorded something from the local PBS station–which is owned by everyone. Maybe someday if my son ever plays basketball for the local college, I’ll be complaining if the games don’t preempt Invisible Minds, but that won’t be an option for another ten years.
