January 14, 2010 (FinancialWire) — The U.S. Air Force has awarded General Dynamics Corp.’s (NYSE: GD) Advanced Information Systems unit a five-year, $60 million contract to provide network management and mission operations support.

The services will go to the 480th Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance Wing’s Air Force Distributed Common Ground System and two network operations centers in Virginia and California.  

Under this contract, General Dynamics will continue to provide systems, network and communications engineering; technical project management; systems integration and administration; configuration management; and network security management.

The company will also provide network management, mission and performance management and data traffic routing support for the DCGS network, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. General Dynamics has supported the 480th Intelligence Group since 1994.
