U.S. regulators say Nestle made inaccurate health benefit claims on some beverages
Portland, Oregon (CaymanMama.com) — Swiss multinational packaged foods company Nestle is coming under fire from U.S. health regulators.
The Food and Drug Administration claims that the food giant made inaccurate claims about the health benefits of some of their children’s beverages, according to a letter released Tuesday.
In a letter dated December 4, the FDA said Nestle made misleading nutrient content claims on certain Juicy Juice beverage products aimed at kids under 2 years of age.
According to Reuters, “In a separate December 3 letter, the FDA said Nestle’s Boost Kid Essentials Nutritionally Complete Drink, in vanilla, chocolate and strawberry flavors, was promoted as a “medical food” but did not meet requirements for that type of claim.”
