Tellabs Buys WiChorus

December 3, 2009 (FinancialWire) — Tellabs (NASDAQ: TLAB) has closed its acquisition of WiChorus, a provider of mobile packet core solutions, following Tellabs’ receipt of Hart-Scott-Rodino approval from the Federal Trade Commission.

According to Tellabas, the acquisition enables the firm, which is engaged in mobile backhaul networks, to expand into mobile packet core networks, deliver new applications and provide savings for mobile carriers.
