“Twitter” takes top spot for most used word of 2009

Dallas, Texas (CaymanMama.com) — Social networking is taking the world over and on particular site is leading the pack in popularity.

Since its inception in 2006 by Jack Dorsey, Twitter has gained notability and popularity all over the globe, and has not taken the top spot as the most used word of 2009.

Algorithms company, Global Language Monitor, based in Texas, said Twitter is being uttered the most followed by “Barack Obama” and “H1N1″ in second and third respectively.

“Stimulus” took the fourth spot and everyone’s favorite, “vampire” at number five.
