(NASDAQ: QLGC), a leading supplier of high performance network infrastructure solutions, along with other high performance computing industry leaders, was awarded HPCwire’s Editor’s Choice for “Best HPC Collaboration Between government and Industry” at SC09.

QLogic and nine other vendors were recognized by the editors of HPCwire for their role in Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory’s “Hyperion” Project. QLogic provided the InfiniBand(R) infrastructure, including switches and host channel adapters for the project. Other industry leaders on the project including Cisco, DataDirect Networks, Dell (NASDAQ: DELL), Intel (NASDAQ: INTC), LSI Corp., Red Hat, Sun and Supermicro worked with QLogic to build a large-scale Linux cluster test bed.

The goal of the Hyperion project is to provide a development, testing and scaling environment for new cluster technologies and infrastructure critical to the mission requirements of the Department of Energy and National Nuclear Security Administration’s Advanced Simulation and Computing program.
