October 19, 2009 (FinancialWire) — Westway Group, Inc. (OTCBB: WTWG) (Current Market Cap: $114.05 Mil.) said that its Westway Terminal Cincinnati unit has completed its acquisition of the storage assets, contractual relationships, and property of Southside River-Rail Terminal, Inc. The purchase price for this acquisition was around $20 million in cash.

Cincinnati, Ohio-based Southside River-Rail Terminal is an independent bulk liquid handling facility. The terminal facility that was acquired by Westway in this transaction is located in Cincinnati, between the Ohio River and CSX rail lines with access to I-75, I-71 and I-74.

The facility is adjacent to an existing Westway owned liquid animal feed supplement operation, which will provide some synergies for both the terminal and feed operations. The acquired terminal handles barges, rail and truck operations, and it has over 35 million gallons of bulk liquid storage capacity, consisting of over 45 tanks designed to meet the specialized storage, handling and transportation requirements of various types of liquid products.

New Orleans-based Westway Group is a provider of bulk liquid storage and related services and a manufacturer and distributor of liquid animal feed supplements. Westway has 60 operating facilities.
