Comtech Telecommunications Gets $33.4 Million In Orders

October 8, 2009 (FinancialWire) — Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (NASDAQ: CMTL) said its Maryland-based subsidiary, Comtech Mobile Datacom Corp., received orders totaling $33.4 million under its Movement Tracking System or MTS contract with the U.S. Army. Total orders received to date against the $605.1 million MTS contract increased to $582.2 million.

The orders are for the supply of a limited number of V2 systems, which feature Comtech’s Model MT-2012 mobile satellite transceivers, integrated with a Savi Technology’s ISO-compliant EchoPoint RFID Reader and encrypted GPS module, with the bulk of the order for the supply of newly designed in-vehicle installation kits. These in-vehicle installation kits will be used in connection with the upgrading of MTS ruggedized computers in previously deployed MTS V2 systems. Additionally, the order includes engineering and technical support services, in support of ongoing MTS program activities in the United States and abroad.
