Adept Technology Shows Off Robot Packaging Software
October 6, 2009 (FinancialWire) — Adept Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADEP), a provider of intelligent vision-guided robotics and global robotics services, announced it will be showcasing its new A accepted robot for high speed food handling, the Adept Quattro s650HS, at Pack Expo 2009 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Quattro s650HS is the only A Accepted parallel robot available for applications such as meat and poultry processing. The company will also be demonstrating its advanced packaging management software solution, ACE PackXpert. The company’s demonstrations will highlight technology that allows manufacturers to increase production while reducing integration costs and deployment times.
“We look forward to engaging with new and existing clients in evaluating how Adept Technology and its latest automation solutions can be applied to address industry needs. Pack Expo is an excellent forum where attendees can see firsthand the latest innovations that address their unique challenges,” said Rush LaSelle, director of global sales and marketing for Adept Technology, Inc. “Both ACE PackXpert and the newly expanded Adept Quattro line give producers and processors best-in-class tools to increase production, reduce costs, meet stringent hygienic standards and reduce time to market.”
The Adept Quattro s650HS is the industry’s only parallel robot with A acceptance for primary food handling. The Quattro is also available with a new fixed platform option providing enhanced flexibility for higher payload products. The Quattro line is specifically designed for high-speed manufacturing, packaging, material handling, and assembly applications. The Quattro differs from conventional parallel robots in that it features a four-arm kinematic. This unique design enables higher speeds, faster accelerations, and exceptional performance across the entire work envelope. Powerful compact controls and embedded amplifiers make installation easy while reducing workcell size and overall system footprint. The speed and precision of Quattro make it the perfect choice for flexible packaging, material handling, kitting, and assembly applications where performance is of paramount consideration.
ACE PackXpert is a software solution built on Adept’s fully integrated automation control environment, Adept ACE, the latest generation of Adept software. Designed specifically for packaging applications, the all-in-one ACE PackXpert solution is completely flexible enabling manufacturers to respond quickly to part changes without lengthy reprogramming. ACE PackXpert features an easy-to-use intuitive graphical interface and 3D workspace display for visualizing the system operation. This powerful software enables users to easily coordinate the efforts of an entire line of robots by working across multiple controllers. The program was designed for novice users with no programming required in bringing an application online, while permitting users with V+ programming expertise to leverage their existing library of V+ functionality.
