Karachi (Dawn.com): Pakistan felt the pinch of high rising prices of essentials just days before the holy month of Ramadan began, thanks to the parliamentarians and the Pakistani president who owns big chunk in the sugar industry. The mood, this Eid generally remained somber with people having less money to spend. The prices of clothing, foot ware and other items mostly remained out of the reach of the average income earner. The grocery store keepers too complained about fewer sales at the stores and kept waiting for customers who usually flocked to such shops to buy stuff before Eid.
Pakistan waits for aid money promised by Friends of Democratic Pakistan
Washington (Dawn.com): The IMF urged the Friends of Democratic Pakistan to fulfill their pledge of donating $5.7 billion which has not been delivered to Pakistan as yet. The IMF in turn urged Pakistan to deliver what it had promised to these friendly states that still wait to hear from Pakistan as to how and where their aid money will be spent.
While in Washington, Pakistani President will be meeting the US President and the leaders of the group of the Friends of Pakistan on Thursday.
India arrests Ex - Indian army personnel on spying for Pakistan
Patna (Dawn.com): Sudhakar Sudhanshu, the army soldier who was earlier sacked by the Indian army on charges of indiscipline was arrested on charges of spying for Pakistan. He was arrested with maps showing deployment of Indian forces in Kashmir. The reports from the media state that the Indian soldier was on his way to Nepal to meet his Pakistani contact to hand over the details gathered. He was spying for Pakistan’s ISI the report adds.

Peshawar (Dawn.com): The Pakistan security forces claimed to have arrested Mohammad Nasim Shah, the mastermind of suicide bombing and the person responsible for training hundreds of suicide bombers. He was arrested in wounded condition.

Johannesburg (Dawn.com): Today Pakistan cricket teams plays its First ICI Champions trophy match against West Indies. Shahid Afridi will head the Pakistan cricket team instead of the captain Yunus Khan who got injured during practice session.
