Stanley Wins $64 Million Army Contract
October 2, 2009 (FinancialWire) — Stanley, Inc. (NYSE: SXE) said it was awarded a five-year, single-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract with a $64 million ceiling by the U.S. Army to support in the development of advanced-capability insensitive munition warheads.
The award is meant to sustain the Army technology objective for smaller, lighter, cheaper munitions components, which seeks to integrate multi-purpose, insensitive munition-compliant warheads that will defeat armor, fortified structures and personnel.
According to Stanley, the technologies developed under the contract will result in improved performance of current missile systems against future threats, improve insensitive munitions response to threats, and allow munitions to provide effects against a wide variety of threats.
