Digital Realty Trust Buys Two California Properties
September 30, 2009 (FinancialWire) — Wholesale datacenter provider Digital Realty Trust, Inc. (NYSE: DLR) said it has acquired an operating datacenter in Sunnyvale, California and an ownership interest in a property in Santa Clara, California for a total of $44.3 million.
The Sunnyvale facility totals around 42,000 rentable square feet, including 32,000 square feet of raised floor space. Digital said the property is fully leased through mid 2022 on a triple net basis to a provider of network neutral data center and Internet exchange services.
Digital acquired its interest in the Santa Clara property from its joint venture partner. The property totals around 42,000 square feet, including 29,000 square feet of raised floor space.
The company expects the blended cash cap rate on these acquisitions to be consistent with its 2009 guidance, as updated on its last earnings call.
San Francisco-based Digital Realty Trust owns, acquires, redevelops, develops and manages technology-related real estate. The company’s portfolio totaled around 13.8 million square feet as of September 28. It is located in 27 markets throughout Europe and North America.
