Kraft To Head Lycoming Unit At Textron
August 28, 2009 (FinancialWire) — Michael Kraft has been named senior vice president and general manager of Textron Inc.’s (NYSE: TXT) Lycoming Engines unit. He replaces Ian Walsh, who was promoted to chief innovation officer at the parent company.
Kraft was formerly Lycoming’s vice president of research, development and engineering. He also led Lycoming’s air safety investigation unit.
In his new role, Kraft will oversee all aspects of the business, reporting to Fred Strader, chief operating officer of Textron Systems.
Williamsport, Pennsylvania-based Lycoming Engines specializes in engineering, manufacture, service and support of piston aircraft engines.
Textron owns aircraft, defense, industrial and finance businesses with brands such as Bell Helicopter, Cessna Aircraft company, Jacobsen, Kautex, Lycoming, E-Z-GO, Greenlee, and Textron Systems.
