Science Applications Receives $49 Million Navy Task Order

August 25, 2009 (FinancialWire) — Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAI) said it has been awarded a task order by a division of the U.S. Navy to provide systems engineering and analysis support for combat systems.

The follow on task order has a one-year base period of performance, four one-year options, and a total value of more than $49 million if all options are exercised.

Under the task order, SAIC will support will help introduce new technology into combat systems. The company will also provide technical and engineering expertise in support of total ship and combat system engineering, and research and development.

San Diego-based Science Applications International is a scientific, engineering, and technology applications firm whose roughly 45,000 employees serve customers in the Department of Defense, the intelligence community, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, other U.S. government civil agencies and various commercial markets.

SAIC reported annual revenues of $8.9 billion for its fiscal year ended January 31, 2008.
