August 7, 2009 (FinancialWire) — Griffon Corp. (NYSE: GFF) has selected Douglas J. Wetmore as executive vice president and chief financial officer, effective September 1. He was most recently SVP, CFO and treasurer of International Flavors and Fragrances Inc. (NYSE: IFF), a creator and manufacturer of flavors and fragrances used in a range of consumer products.

Wetmore was IFF’s CFO for over ten years. Prior to that, he was that firm’s corporate controller for seven years and spent over twelve years at Price Waterhouse.

Patrick L. Alesia, who presently serves as Griffon’s VP, CFO, treasurer and secretary, is being promoted to the position of chief administrative officer, effective September 1. Alesia will continue to serve as the VP, treasurer and secretary of the company. He has been employed by the company for 35 years and has been an executive officer of Griffon since 1979.

Jericho, New York-based Griffon is a holding company active whose business segments include Telephonics Corp., Clopay Building Products Co. and Clopay Plastic Products Co.
