Schech Named CFO Of Bladex
July 30, 2009 (FinancialWire) — Banco Latinoamericano de Comercio Exterior, S.A., known as Bladex, (NYSE: BLX ) said that chief financial officer Jaime Celorio will leave the company effective October 1. He will be replaced by Christopher Schech, who joins Bladex after working for Volvo’s financial services unit in Europe.
Schech also worked at GE’s consumer finance and GE Money businesses in Latin America and Asia.
Celorio is leaving Bladex after two years of service to pursue other opportunities.
Panama-based Bladex is a supranational bank originally established by the central banks of Latin America and Caribbean countries to promote trade finance in the region.
The bank’s shareholders include central and state-owned entities in 23 countries of the region, as well as Latin American and international commercial banks and institutional and retail investors.
