Strasbaugh Receives $3.6 Million Order

July 23, 2009 (FinancialWire) — Strasbaugh (OTCBB: STRB) (Current Market Cap: $10.65 Mil.) said it has received a $3.6 million order for multiple wafer grinding systems.

According to company executive Mike Kirkpatrick, the systems, which are sold under the brand nTellect, are suitable for a range of applications, “from conventional semiconductor wafer backgrinding to unique surfacing applications, including hard and exotic materials.”

The grinders are scheduled for shipment to the customer prior to year-end 2009.

San Luis Obispo, California-based Strasbaugh is engaged in the design and manufacturing of surfacing technology for the global semiconductor, silicon, data storage, MEMS, LED, telecommunications and optics industries.

The company makes grinding tools, prime wafer polishing and chemical mechanical planarization systems, as well as process technology.
