Computer Sciences Renews Contract With Henry Ford Health System Contract
July 16, 2009 (FinancialWire) — Computer Sciences Corp. (NYSE: CSC) said it has signed a new information technology outsourcing services renewal contract with Henry Ford Health System. The new five-year, three-month agreement runs through March 2014 and has an estimated total contract value of $115 million, according to CSC.
The agreement was signed during the third quarter of CSC’s fiscal year 2009.
Under the extension, CSC will continue to provide all applications development and support services, including more than 200 applications covering clinical, departmental, revenue cycle and PeopleSoft ERP.
The services support day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives, including development of an enhanced electronic medical record program and remediation of more than 50 application systems for the new 300-bed West Bloomfield Hospital.
CSC said that the original five-year contract was awarded to the company in December 2000. In 2004, it was extended through March 2009 and the scope expanded to include additional services.
Detroit, Michigan-based Henry Ford Health System is a health care system that integrates primary and specialty care with research and education. It includes the 1,100-member Henry Ford Medical Group, seven owned hospitals, the 500,000-member Health Alliance Plan, 27 primary care centers and other health-related entities located throughout southeastern Michigan.
Falls Church, Virginia-based Computer Sciences offers capabilities including systems design and integration, information technology and business process outsourcing, applications software development, Web and application hosting, mission support and management consulting.
CSC has around 92,000 employees and reported revenue of $16.74 billion for the 12 months ended April 3.
