Aerojet Receives $40 Million Army Rocket Motor Contract
July 15, 2009 (FinancialWire) — GenCorp’s (NYSE: GY) (Current Market Cap: US$ 135.13 Mil.) Aerojet unit has received a contract worth around $40 million to deliver Hawk rocket motors to the U.S. Army, for sale to allied countries. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2010.
The Hawk is a surface-to-air guided, medium-range missile that provides air defense coverage against low-to-medium-altitude aircraft. The system is currently in use by 20 allied countries around the world.
Aerojet is an aerospace and defense firm principally serving the missile and space propulsion, defense and armaments markets.
