Naturally Advanced, Georgia-Pacific Ink Joint Development Pact
June 16, 2009 (FinancialWire) — Naturally Advanced Technologies Inc. (OTCBB: NADVF) (TSX: NAT) and Georgia-Pacific’s consumer products unit have entered into a joint development agreement to explore applications of technology licensed by NAT from Canada’s National Research Council.
Atlanta-based Georgia-Pacific is a manufacturer and marketer of tissue, packaging, paper, cellulose, building products, and related chemicals. The company employs around 50,000 people at more than 300 locations in North America, South America and Europe.
Vancouver-based Naturally Advanced Technologies is focused on unlocking the potential of renewable and environmentally sustainable biomass resources from bast fibers.
The company, through its Crailar Fiber Technologies unit, is developing proprietary technologies in collaboration with Canada’s National Research Council and the Alberta Research Council.
