June 3, 2009 (FinancialWire) — GeoEye, Inc. (NASDAQ: GEOY) has appointed Joseph F. Greeves to the position of executive vice president and chief financial officer. He previously served for nearly seven years as EVP and CFO of Managed Object Solutions Inc.

Managed Objects sold IT visualization software to commercial and government customers and was acquired by Novell in the fall of 2008. Before joining Managed Objects, Greeves consulted for Lazard Technology Partners as its CFO executive in residence. Prior to that, Greeves was SVP and CFO for Opnet Technologies, a software development and consulting services business.

In his new role, Greeves will be primarily responsible for the overall management and direction of GeoEye’s financial planning, corporate finance, accounting, fiscal reporting, and public company disclosure requirements.

Dulles, Virginia-based GeoEye is active in the geospatial industry providing imagery products and solutions. The company serves the U.S. government, including the national security community, as well as international governments and commercial customers.
