Mktg, Maritz Team On Direct-To-Consumer Promotions
May 28, 2009 (FinancialWire) — Marketing services firms ‘mktg’, inc. (NASDAQ: CMKG) (Current Market Cap: US$10.00 Mil.) and Maritz have inked a three-year strategic alliance in the field of direct-to-consumer promotions.
Under the terms of the alliance, Maritz will engage ‘mktg’ as its exclusive partner for certain direct-to-consumer programs, partnership and sponsorship marketing and the provision of a field sales and marketing force for consumer marketing programs on behalf of Maritz and its clients.
The deal allows Maritz to initially receive shares of ‘mktg’ common stock in return for ‘mktg’ assuming certain client projects. Maritz can earn additional shares of common stock if certain performance targets are achieved by ‘mktg’ under the alliance. ‘mktg’ will also be absorbing what it terms “a significant number” of Maritz employees to facilitate the transition of some Maritz contracts to ‘mktg’.
New York-based ‘mktg’ is an alternative media and marketing services firm with offices in San Francisco, Chicago, Cincinnati and Toronto. The company’s services include experiential marketing, digital marketing, retail promotions and strategic research and planning.
