Hull Named CEO Of Gen-Probe
May 19, 2009 (FinancialWire) — Gen-Probe Inc. (NASDAQ: GPRO) said that Carl W. Hull has formally succeeded the company’s long-time leader, Henry L. Nordhoff, as chief executive officer. Hull, formerly Gen-Probe’s president and chief operating officer, also has joined the company’s board.
Nordhoff, who had served as Gen-Probe’s CEO since 1994, retired as CEO on May 17. Nordhoff is now non-executive chairman following his re-election to the board at the company’s annual meeting last week.
San Diego-based Gen-Probe is engaged in the development, manufacture and marketing of nucleic acid tests that are used primarily to diagnose human diseases and screen donated human blood.
Gen-Probe employs around 1,200 people.
