EDAC Technologies To Buy Aero Engine Component Maker
May 18, 2009 (FinancialWire) — EDAC Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ: EDAC) (Current Market Cap: US$11.97 Mil.) has signed a contract to purchase the manufacturing unit assets of MTU Aero Engines North America, a maker of components for the aerospace industry.
Newington, Connecticut-based AENA primarily manufactures rotating components, such as disks, rings, and shafts. The transaction is scheduled to be completed by June 1.
EDAC CEO Dominick A. Pagano said that MTU AENA’s product lines and technologies “will broaden our core competencies and further diversify our aerospace presence.”
EDAC acquired the assets of MTU AENA’s component repair unit in 2007.
Farmington, Connecticut-based EDAC Technologies is a designer and manufacturer of tools, fixtures, jet engine components, composite molds and spindles.
