Canfor To Restart Lumber Mill

May 4, 2009 (FinancialWire) — Canadian lumber producer Canfor Corp. (OTC: CFPZF) (TSX: CFP) said that it will be restarting operations at its Mackenzie sawmill this summer. The company expects the move will result in the production of 80 million board feet of SPF lumber, on an annualized basis.

The mill will return to operation with a single shift, directly employing around 60 people, in addition to suppliers and contractors associated with the operation, according to Canfor.

Vancouver-based Canfor is a forest products company with interests in BC, Alberta, and Quebec in Canada and Washington state, and North and South Carolina in the U.S.

The company produces softwood lumber, oriented strand board, remanufactured lumber products and specialized wood products.
