Cohron Steps Down As CEO Of Citizens First
April 23, 2009 (FinancialWire) — Mary D. Cohron, a director and president and chief executive officer of Citizens First Corp. (NASDAQ: CZFC) (Current Market Cap: US$8.27 Mil.), has resigned her positions with the company effective as of April 22. Todd Kanipe, who is currently EVP of credit administration at Citizens First, will serve as interim president and CEO.
Kanipe has served as EVP of Citizens First since 2004. The company has named a search committee, and plans to engage an executive search firm to locate a successor to Cohron.
On April 17, Citizens First posted a net loss available to common shareholders of $46,000 or, $0.02 per basic and diluted common share the first quarter, compared to net income of $340,000, or $0.17 per share for the first quarter of 2008.
The company said that its net income was impacted negatively by further compression in the net interest margin, provision expense, and an increase in FDIC insurance expense.
Bowling Green, Kentucky-based Citizens First is a bank holding company that has eleven offices in Kentucky.
