Broadcom Proposes To Emulex
April 22, 2009 (FinancialWire) — Emulex Corporation (NYSE: ELX) board of directors has confirmed an unsolicited proposal from Broadcom Corporation (NASDAQ: BRCM) to acquire Emulex for $9.25 per share in cash.
The board said it would review the proposal in due course, consistent in consultation with its financial advisor, Goldman, Sachs & Co., and its legal advisor, Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP.
Emulex stock was up $0.30 to $10 in early afternoon trading on over five times normal volume. Over the past year, it’s traded at a high of $14.74 to a low of $4.53.
