CGI Group Inks $40 Million Louisiana Contract
April 17, 2009 (FinancialWire) — IT and business process services provider CGI Inc. (NYSE: GIB) (TSX: GIB.A) has signed a contract with the state of Louisiana community development and disaster recovery unit to deliver IT operations and service management to support Louisiana’s ongoing Road Home program. The contract, valued at $40 million, was signed during CGI’s second quarter and will run for three years.
Under the award, CGI’s team will deliver application maintenance, user support, data warehouse services and reporting, as well as disaster recovery and continuity of operations planning. The CGI team includes Sparkhound and Blue Streak Technologies as local Baton Rouge based partners.
The Road Home Program was established in the wake of hurricanes Katrina and Rita to provide financial assistance to property owners and is the largest single housing recovery program in U.S. history.
