Montana man whose pickup truck was struck by a Burlington Northern train lives. Butte, MT (JusticeNewsFlash.com)--Man survives when a freight train hit a pickup truck. Jason Keeler, a 25 year-old from Havre, Montana, was traveling southbound on Road 403 North in his Ford F-350 pickup truck, when he failed to notice a Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway freight train traveling westbound. The first engine of the freight train struck the pickup truck at about 50 mph in the front right corner. The F-350 flipped to its side, and Keeler was thrown from the pickup. Keeler was taken to Northern Montana Hospital by emergency medical personnel and treated for a broken collarbone, cuts and bruises by doctors and nurses. The Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway train was en route to Portland, Oregon from Cicero, Illinois when the pickup truck versus train wreck occurred. The driver of the train stated he sounded the whistle as he approached the crossing. None of the train employees or the engineer was injured nor was the train damaged. Keeler was cited for disobeying signals indicating approach of a train, and for not wearing his seat belt. Railway and local authorities continue to investigate the train wreck.
