The perhaps most powerful multinational monopoly of the Greek market, NESTLE Hellas company, is to be judged today by the Greek Competition Commission after a long-term battle of the Greek businessman Giorgos Dritsas. STOPCARTEL: Full support.
In the condemnatory statement of objections under discussion, the Directorate General of Competition proposes the imposition to NESTLE of a fine that can exceed the 200 million Euros.
It has been reported by Giorgos Dritsas a Greek businessman activated in the coffee sector, that since 2002 "NESTLE Hellas S.A." abused its dominant position in the market of instant coffee.
In simple terms, the D.G.C. vindicates G. Dritsas, who had reported since 2002 that the multinational Company NESTLE provided enormous economic returns in Super Markets and big restaurants, in order to expel his own products from the market !As a result of those proceedings, was the almost absolute economic extermination of a healthy and developing Greek Company and the following damage of the economic interests of the Greek consumers As has been pointed out in a relevant article of the Athens Daily newspaper "TO VIMA", "the Greek market of coffee is one of the more expensive the European Union."
STOPCARTEL Organisation fights for the rights of victims of cartels and monopolies and, in view of this critical sitting, made today the following statement:
1. We express our full support to Giorgos Dritsas, who with incalculable personal cost managed to bring in front of the Greek Competition Commission one of the hard core monopolies of the Greek market. To achieve that it has been necessary criminal charges to be recited against the president of the Greek Competition Commission for "burial" of the case for many years.
2. We declare to every interested party that we will be watching closely the developments concerning the NESTLE case and we will bring to light every process that will aim in the favourable treatment of the multinational company.
3. We expect that the Greek Competition Commission not only will punish exemplarily NESTLE and its collaborators, but will make with its decision provision for the full and complete compensation of the victim-complainant company for the enormous economic damage that has suffered due to the abusive practices of NESTLE.
4. We ask the International Media and the Press to cover the Athens trial of the multinational company NESTLE ,as a matter of international interest concerning the consumers worldwide.
