The 2008 Tony Award's Best Musical of the Year
In the Heights, spices up the cover Movmnt magazine, The 2008 Tony Awards Best Musical of the Year is featured as the cover story of the Summer 2008 issue of Movmnt, a lifestyle dance and pop culture quarterly founded by Danny Tidwell, former So You Think You Can Dance runner up and David Benaym, internationally renowned journalist. The "Heights" writer and lead actor Lin-Manual Miranda is surrounded by some of his cast-members along with the show's choreographer, Andy Blankenbuehler, who also won a Tony, in an astonishing fashion editorial captured by River Clark, famous for his Blue Fly campaign and edgy artistic style.
The predominantly Latino cast shares what it is like to portray the experience of their lives on stage through a story about life in Washington Heights, a Latino community in the uppermost part of Manhattan. The story and interviews highlight how the synergy between the performers and the decade long history of the show brought to life this Tony Award winning production.

Movmnt takes the opportunity to announce the launch of Keep it Real, a non profit platform designed support organizations across the country and bring awareness to a new generation of readers. The hot new Dance and Pop Culture lifestyle publication is reuniting many former cast members from the popular show for the campaign, including past seasons' favorites Nick Lazzarini, Travis Wall, Lacey Schwimmer, Ivan Koumaev, and Jaime Goodwin among others. Editor in Chief David Benaym states, "Keep It Real, is to encourage a sense of civic responsibility within ourselves and in the Movmnt audience. It is designed to help community organizations reach their goals, while at the same time it offers a unique opportunity for performers to use their fame and bring awareness to social issues and help raise funds for organizations with missions close to our hearts. "The first initiative associated with Keep It Real is to donate 100% of the proceeds from Movmnt's subscriptions to Dancers Responding to Aids/Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids, which annually collects and holds events in the Dance, Broadway and Theatre communities. Movmnt has partnered with DRA - www.dradance.org - in the past as a media sponsor of the Fire Island Dance Festival among other events.
