Inside the book: Intro
My name is Jill Ayala. In 4 years, I have lost over 150 pounds making better choices and learning to care again. I now weigh less that the total amount that I've lost! I went from a size 26-28 (or 3X) to a med/small or size 8! I cannot truly describe the feeling that I have everyday when I look in the mirror. I am so proud of myself for changing, not only my looks, but my outlook toward everything! I really smile when I see myself in the mirror!
I have this button down shirt that I got from my brother. Five years ago I used to not be able to even button it up. Now, when I put it on, it reminds me of where I was and where I am today.
Have you ever grown your hair out? It takes months, even years, to get it the length you want, right? As it grows, you look in the mirror and get disappointed, but soon realize that it will be the way you want it, as long as you are patient. Then, you tie it up into a cute bun and continue about your day, knowing that your great hair day is coming!
Have you ever looked into a full length mirror, shrug and say this is as good as it is going to get? What if you were to try to spend the same time and energy on your body as you do on your hair?
Losing weight should be just like growing your hair out! You can't expect to see changes immediately. You have to have patience! And, just like keeping your hair in a cute style while it grows out, you need to do the same for your body! I know for a fact that if you start caring again, you can and WILL change your life!
Start Caring Again! iDareU!
After deciding to write this book, I asked myself a question. How did I do it? I retraced my steps and discovered that I was daring myself with new personal challenges everyday. I dared to make and keep promises to myself daily! I dared to try new things, to read different information and to go to different places. I dared myself to look into that mirror EVERYDAY and smile! I dared myself to wash my face and put lotion on every night before bed. I dared myself to start moving again. I dared myself to CHANGE EVERYTHING!
When I started this, I kept trying different things. When I put them all together, I found what worked for me. I didn't think of this as a diet because it isn't! I thought this was my life and started making choices for "thin Jill". My attitude was that I didn't want to continue on the diet roller-coasters of the past and I needed to figure out how to live, be healthy and still love the foods I was eating. And, it had to be easy!
Now it's your turn to promise yourself right now to fake it 'til you make it and start living your life today the way you dream it will be tomorrow! The switch is easy and when you see results, you will realize that you don't have to think of your weight as a problem forever. I want you to understand that by reading these pages you are making a commitment to getting healthy!
The first 30 days are always the hardest. Results take time to see. This is NOT a quick fix! This is your life!
So ask yourself; are you going to live a happy, healthy life or stay doing things the same way you have been but still expecting a different result? I was over 300 pounds, but I CHOSE to live my life like I weighed 155 pounds. I only did "thin Jill" stuff and "thin Jill" has been thin for 4 years!
I lost over 150 pounds and totally changed my reflection in the mirror. Wow! It's awesome when I think about it. I lost over half of me! I did it and you can too! Decide RIGHT NOW that you are not dieting anymore, period! You are going to live your life starting today as you, the way you always imagined!
iDareU! Is a road map of my journey. It's a list of the choices I made, the questions I answered, the foods I ate and the life changing promises I made. I lost over 150 pounds and have kept it off for over 4 years!
In the pages that follow, you will see ~iDareU!~. I included them to give you a push to try something new and to change your thinking pattern so you can begin to look at you a different way. Know that until you change the way you think and feel about yourself nothing will change. Once you take the time to look in the mirror, stop judging yourself and stop making the same old excuses and start to love and accept who you, EVERYTHING CHANGES! Make a commitment to yourself to be who you want to be right now and accept where you are right now and move forward. Everyday, have faith in yourself that you WILL do what you must to see the image come to life! Let me tell you friends, it is awesome! I am truly living my fantasy! I wish for you the same success and ease, and only smiles while you are on your way.
~ IDareU! ~ Go and look in the mirror! Promise to make today your first day! SMILE you're, worth it! IDareU!
