Ltd (India) announces the release of version 1.3.2 of USB CopyNotify!, a security software that prevents data theft from taking place due to the unauthorized usage of removable USB storage such as USB Flash Drives/Sticks. With further upgrades made in this version for USB device detection & alert notifications, this security software provides an effective data security solution for an office network.
First released in September 2007, USB CopyNotify! plugs the data leak that takes place in most offices due to unauthorized usage of USB devices such USB Thumb / Flash Drives. These USB storage devices are so small that they are easily carried into office, plugged into any office computer & used to copy confidential data without detection thus making established data security measures vulnerable.
Once loaded, USB CopyNotify! raises an immediate alert when removable USB storage is used on any computer on the network. By receiving immediate notifications when a USB drive is being plugged into any computer, prevention of unauthorized copying of confidential information is possible. This notification contains details such as the computer name into which the USB device was inserted, its IP address, USB device description as well as operational details. The software also logs all data copy operations on the USB drives as well as the shut down or uninstall of the USB CopyNotify! program itself. Audio Alerts can now be also generated.
With its capability to provide alert notifications of USB device activity on the network, USB CopyNotify! is suitable for the small business owner/system administrator to easily detect unauthorized individuals attempting to copy private information from computers on the office network.
USB CopyNotify! runs on Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista. The free trial version will monitor up to two computers on the network. License packs are also available for 10, 25, 50, 100, 150 and 200 computers, as well as license packages for larger networks.
