Zacks Analyst Interview Highlights: Power Integration, Garmin and Navteq
CHICAGO--Zacks.com releases the latest Analyst Interview. Today's interview is with senior analyst Ken Nagy, who discusses Power Integration (Nasdaq: POWI), Garmin (Nasdaq: GRMN) and Navteq (NYSE: NVT).
A synopsis of today's Analyst Interview is presented below. The full article can be read at www.zacks.com.
What have you found noteworthy in the semiconductor industry lately?
The current worldwide energy situation has created greater sensitivity to the burgeoning problem. Power Integration's (Nasdaq: POWI) integrated power products conform to these new standards. As customers begin to design-in integrated power ICs that are in conformance with these new energy efficiency standards, POWI should be able to capitalize on the conversion.
Do you have any top Buy recommendations going into 2008?
Garmin (Nasdaq: GRMN) is an OEM of equipment focused on global positioning system (GPS)-based technology. September quarter results exceeded the consensus on both the top and bottom lines. Strong demand for Personal Navigation Devices (PNDs) prompted management to raise the guidance for 2007.
PNDs are likely to remain a major growth driver, pulling down the overall margins. Garmin's R&D focus and strategic advertising campaigns continue to raise operating expenses. We see increasing revenue and gradually decreasing profitability for the company. Garmin has dropped out of the bidding war for Tele Atlas, and extended the existing agreement with its original map supplier Navteq (NYSE: NVT).
