EPIEN Medical Appoints Dr. K. James Ehlen as CEO
MINNEAPOLIS--EPIEN Medical, Inc., ("EPIEN") today announced the appointment of K. James Ehlen, M.D., as its chief executive officer. Dr. Ehlen will lead EPIEN's ongoing research and development of proprietary tissue re-surfacing technology that improves the treatment of widespread chronic oral soft tissue and skin disorders.

Most recently, Dr. Ehlen served as chairman for Halleland Health Consulting, Inc., in Minneapolis. Previously, he held executive leadership positions with Humana, founder and co-CEO of Allina Health System, chairman and CEO of Medica and Physicians Health Plan of Minnesota. Prior to that, he was an endocrinologist in private practice in Minneapolis. Dr. Ehlen also currently serves as a clinical professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Minnesota Hospital, in addition to serving as a director on several medical company and healthcare association boards. He received his M.D. degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School and has board certification from the American Board In Internal Medicine and Endocrinology. Dr. Ehlen joined the EPIEN Medical Executive Business Council earlier this year.
