Travelzoo Opens Office in Hong Kong
NEW YORK--Travelzoo Inc. (Nasdaq:TZOO), a global Internet media company, today announced that it has opened an office in Hong Kong.
"The opening of an office in Hong Kong kicks off the launch of our new Asia Pacific business segment. We plan to invest significantly in the Asia Pacific region. While we expect our launch in the Asia Pacific region and our continued expansion in Europe to have a negative impact on our operating margins in the near term, we also see a lot of upside potential in building a global media brand," said Travelzoo Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Ralph Bartel.
Travelzoo's operations in the Asia Pacific region will be managed by Raymond Ng, Executive Vice President, Asia, and Jason Yap, Executive Vice President, Japan, India and Australia. Mr. Ng, 45, served as head of North Asia Business Development for Yahoo! Inc. from 1998 to 2006. Mr. Yap, 37, who will start on May 7, currently serves as Regional Vice President, Digital Content and Marketing, for Stargroup Ltd., a Newscorp company.
Travelzoo's new office is located at 100 Queen's Road Central, 15th Floor, Central, Hong Kong.
