IIJ Group Opens New Ikebukuro Data Center

TOKYO -- Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (IIJ, NASDAQ: IIJI, TSE1: 3774), one of Japan's leading Internet access and comprehensive network solutions providers, and Net Care, Inc., a contact center and network operation outsourcing company within the IIJ Group, today announced the opening of the Ikebukuro Data Center.

As a result of rising corporate investment in IT and rapidly growing demand from broadband-dependent network-based businesses, many companies have resorted to outsourcing system operations to data centers in recent years. Data centers have also become a preferred solution for potential disaster recovery related to situations such as natural disasters and power outages. Demand for such services has risen dramatically, particularly in the Tokyo Metropolitan area.

The Ikebukuro Data Center, IIJ's thirteenth(1), will open in central Tokyo to service the high demand in the area. The center is based on an outsourcing-on-demand concept, and provides a range of system administration and monitoring services to meet the growing and diverse outsourcing needs of many of today's corporations. IIJ has standardized power supply options so that customers can select the most cost-efficient power configuration for their needs. Standard racks will have three power supply options: single, dual, and redundant.

The IIJ Group has many data centers, and customers can choose the one best suited to their situation. By providing a range of services - from basic co-location to total network solutions - IIJ can rapidly respond to the diverse needs of its customers.
