STM Expands Presence in Russian Market
IRVINE, California -- STM Group, Inc. announced today the opening of its Russian Federation branch office in Moscow. The new office will function as STM's regional center for Russia and Central Asia. Alexander Alipov, an experienced telecom professional, has been appointed as the General Manager of STM Russia. Mr. Alipov has been associated with satellite, telecom and related industries since 1985 and has been instrumental in the growth of other multi-national companies in Russia.
Umar Javed, Executive Vice President for STM Group, said, "Over the past three years, STM has supplied over a thousand telephony VSAT terminals serving the remotest locations in Russia. With our latest state-of-the art DVB-RCS technology, we intend to expand our presence in order to effectively serve the broadband and data connectivity applications." STM's DVB-RCS product has already been type approved and is ready for market deployment. The standards based technology and STM's unique implementation of the Satlink product line is designed specifically for high speed broadband applications with several Mbps of transmission throughput.
