Beam Global Spirits & Wine, Inc. Launches Redesigned drink smart(R) Website

DEERFIELD -- Beam Global Spirits & Wine, Inc. [Fortune Brands, Inc. (NYSE:FO)], a global leader in premium spirits and wine, today announced the launch of a revamped website for its drink smart(R) social responsibility platform, www.drinksmart.com. The drink smart(R) website is dedicated to informing legal purchase age consumers on how to make responsible choices about alcohol.

The updated drink smart(R) website serves to educate legal purchase age adults who choose to drink about doing so responsibly, by providing them with useful information and tips on how to drink responsibly. It includes the opportunity to download or order a free drink smart(R) brochure. New to the site are featured highlights of activities and programming that Beam Global has supported to further the message about responsible consumption, the Beam Global Spirits & Wine Marketing Code of Practice and a public service broadcast featuring race car legends Michael Andretti and Robby Gordon.

Through the drink smart(R) responsibility platform, Beam Global educates consumers on how to make responsible decisions about alcohol and reminds them of four basic principles: 1) if you're under 21, don't drink; 2) if you're of legal purchase age and choose to drink, do so in moderation; 3) never drive drunk and 4) if you can't drink responsibly - don't drink at all.

"Beam Global is committed to educating consumers about making responsible choices regarding alcohol consumption," stated Chris Swonger, senior vice president, corporate affairs, Beam Global Spirits & Wine, Inc. "Drink smart(R) embodies our philosophy about responsible consumption and is an integral part of everything we do. The redesigned drink smart(R) website serves as an effective and useful resource for legal purchase age consumers."

Beam Global has an extensive history of supporting programs that help fight underage drinking and drunk driving. As a member of The Century Council, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to fighting drunk driving and underage drinking, Beam Global supported the organization's "Alcohol 101 Plus" and "65 percent" programs in 2006. Beam Global also supports The Century Council's "We Don't Serve Teens" program, http://www.dontserveteens.gov/, a program uniting The Century Council with The Federal Trade Commission among other organizations.
